On Monday, a pipe in the Ponus Ridge Middle School ruptured, leaving the building without heat for several hours as contractors made repairs to the heating system. As a result, students in the school were dismissed shortly after arriving, at approximately 9:30 a.m.
As of 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, officials announced that repairs were complete and the school was reopened normally on Tuesday.
“Repairs are complete (and) heat has been restored to Ponus,” officials posted on Facebook. “Thanks to parents, students and staff for their understanding (and) flexibility following this morning’s unexpected dismissal. PRMS students, we’ll see you tomorrow!”
